The invention of the smartphone and the ability to easy create and download apps has made our lives more productive and enjoyable. However, there is a dark side to all of this, App Adiciton, while downloading useful apps can be a good thing, downloading and using apps all the time can be annoying to your friends and family (just ask my wife).
It may look a Python skit in the video, but the bush moving along the road is actually a solar powered car designed to look like a bush. The creator artist Justin Shull created the Terrestrial Shrub Rover in honor of NASA returning to the moon. While the idea is there, it looks more like something for spying on your neighbors then a moon buggy. Either way, it is a pretty cool use of technology and very creative in concept.
Powerpoint has been around for over a decade and has grown to become loved and hated (mostly hated), while it is mostly used for presentations it is a powerful tool to express things graphically. Sure there are more advanced programs out there, but there is a lot that can be done by a creative mind.
This one is for all the neh sayers who hate powerpoint and have not looked at it lately... Check out this video on YouTube posted by Gollum9993. Check the description of the video for a link to download the PowerPoint file and see for yourself..
You have to love the technology that we have access to and how that technology informs and entertains us like a YouTube video or keeps us productive like a Smartphone. Combining the two we can be informed on what the latest smartphone allows us to do. A YouTube channel called DROIDshortcuts does just that, showing how to use a Droid Smartphone for some very useful functions that will improve our lives....
Technology has given us the ability to view millions of videos on line as well as on personal media devices for enjoyment of anytime. However, capturing videos from the web and converting them can be a difficult costly process. If you are a media addict like me chances are that you have various applications that can capture and convert media into just about any format, but what if you are the average consumer and/or are on a budget??
I have talked about how technology is a great thing and how it allows us to find gems of entertainment that would be hard to find otherwise, well here is another example of that. A friend posted this video of Danny Kaye and Louis Armstrong on FaceBook and I had to share with everyone... Two of the greatest performers of all time together in one place, gotta love that.
If you are a music lover who enjoys watching music videos from YouTube, then there is a new online interface that you need to check out. TubeRadio.fm has a solution that provides an easy to use FREE interface to locate music, create, and share playlists.
Laid out similar to iTunes and working in the same manner as iTunes and Real Player, the interface allows for your favorite music to be searched and played. Upon typing in an artist’s name, a list of all the tracks available on YouTube appears. From there tracks can be played and added to playlists, a free login can be created that stores the playlist information.
Playing back and saving to playlists is only the beginning, play whole albums via discography, purchase albums via download from 7Digital or CDs from Amazon, and share your playlists via Twitter, Facebook, email, and more. Here is a playlist that I created for Stevie Ray Vaughan. While the interface has some quirks, it is a very useful and fun way to enjoy music from YouTube. I recommend taking it for a spin and see for yourself.
