When we think of home automation we mostly think about the entertainment side of the functionality like controlling a home theater, a amedia distribution system or lighting. While we may think about protecting our home by using home automation to control a security system, we can also protect our homes from flooding with automated water shut off valves.
With these valves you can protect your home from water damage or just turn the water off in your vacation home if you forgot to before you headed home.

You can also automate the task of shutting off the water valve by associating the valve with your home security or a thermostat. For example: when lowering temperature on the thermostat when leaving the home the valve can close when returning home the valve can open returning functionality... same concept can be done with the the home security ...
