One of the biggest challanges in the home automation media market is controling devices already in the home that customers use everyday. Accessing and controling media has become a mainstay of daily life for just about everyone, but most methods are not known or seem too complicated for the average consumer. Sure media server devices are everywhere, but they may be costly and purchasing new equipment can drive everyone bonkers. Additionally, these devices may not be a fit for automation.

You have to love the technology that we have access to and how that technology informs and entertains us like a YouTube video or keeps us productive like a Smartphone. Combining the two we can be informed on what the latest smartphone allows us to do. Technology has given us the ability to view millions of videos on line as well as on personal media devices for enjoyment of anytime. However, capturing videos from the web and converting them can be a difficult costly process. Google Testing Desktop Voice App
Google products such as Docs, Apps, Wave, and Voice continue to grow in popularity and functionality. So it is no suprise that TechCrunch is reporting that Google is in the process of testing a desktop app for Voice. While voice is a useful product, it lacks the ability to call out or use the PC as a phone as services like Skype offer.
